The idea
Every food gets two answers
Most nutrition apps give a food one grade and leave it there. That grade is the same whether you are managing blood sugar, building muscle, or watching sodium. It cannot be right for everyone.
Longevity Food Lab shows you both. There is a standard score, identical for every user, that describes the product itself. Then there is your score, which takes that standard score and adjusts it for the goals you set, using published rules and plain arithmetic that runs on your phone.
Your score leads. The standard score sits underneath it, so you always know how much of the answer is the product and how much is you.
What it does
Four ways to ask
Meals
Photograph a plate or describe it in words. The app identifies what is on it and scores the meal against your goals.
Groceries
Scan the barcode or the Nutrition Facts panel. Packaged foods are scored per FDA serving, so what you read on the shelf matches what the label says.
Supplements
Two layers, kept separate on purpose. A neutral Quality score reviews the formulation on its own merits. A personal fit score shows how it lines up with your goals, and never claims more than the quality supports.
Recipes
Share a recipe from a website or a cooking video and it imports with ingredients and steps. When the site publishes its own nutrition numbers, we use theirs rather than overriding them with our math.
Also in the app
The rest of it
- Sage, the voice assistant Ask questions out loud and get answers about what you are looking at, hands free in the kitchen or the aisle.
- Eats Find food near you, with the matching logic running on your device.
- Circles A small social layer for sharing finds with people you actually know.
- Fasting tracker Track eating windows alongside everything else you are logging.
- Works without a signal Scan a Nutrition Facts panel with no bars and the score is computed on the phone. Anything that needs the network queues up and settles later.
- US or metric Switch units anywhere in the app. Conversions happen at scoring time, so the label's own numbers stay intact.
- A shared product database Once a package is read from its label, the verified numbers are available to everyone. Those records describe the product only, never the person who scanned it.
